+ Elegant:  From her poster to the way she carries herself, she presents this in a courteous and formal manner. Addressing others as there titles.

She hasn't learned to trust people after the death of her best friend, and is now slowly with her contract is making little progress in that. She doesn't just give it out, although she looks intimidating she can't have people being disloyal or treacherous to her.

[Background]

Born to mother who was a slave. She raised her children with the best she had, She tried to keep all six of her children together but they were separated and she was only able to keep Madeline by convincing them to let her reach age first before she is sold to become a breeder.

In her early years she was a very obedient child, who wanted to help out her mother at each chance that she got. Trying to not get the master upset by her budding curiosity of the world around her as well as her thirst for knowledge.  

When her mother and her was done working at the fields, in the free time that Madeline was able, she became friends with the youngest daughter of the slave master who allowed them to play when her duties was finished.

Her mother didn't mind either so long as she minded her manners, and did what she was told as to not get into trouble.

Her name was Eloise, after an outing she begged for Madeline to read her favorite story to her, but she couldn't read. Not understanding why she didn't know how to read just like her, she asked her favourite maid to teach her how to read so they could read there favourite stories to each other. They accepted the request however they would have to do it in secret and they made sure that Eloise new that and that Madeline couldn't tell anyone that she was.

One night she found Madeline reading and practicing her writing skills. Scared that she would get into trouble she tried to hide them but her mom reassured her that it was okay she just could not let anyone else find out that she was.

As time wore on, her mother began to fear that Madeline will be taken away from her when she came of age so she asked Madeline to send a letter to her grandfather in hopes that he will accept her as his granddaughter and grant her freedom from slavery. It took her grandfather five years to reply to her letter by this time Madeline was at the age of fifteen, when they came to get her she was already packed and ready to leave with the escorts her grandfather have given her. Sending her daughter off on much love and good graces she was happy that she was going to be freed.

While moving into her grandfathers house, she kept up with writing to her dear friend Eloise whom she missed. She was being prepped for taking the hand of a wealthy suitor, to her dismay. She wanted to obey his wishes and went along with the proposal and was formerly engaged. While she was waiting for her marriage date, she went to the best schools, learned many different languages, learned how to cook, learned proper etiquette and everything needed to be learned in order to be of the proper graces. While taking her grandfather's last name she was gained freedom from slavery, the next step was to take her rightful place as such and carry on the prestige of the family regardless of her “muddled” blood.

With formal dating arrangements she began meeting with her fiancee, not particularly caring for him at first she began to slowly begin to like him that blossomed later on into love at the time they were married. She was married to him at the age of eighteen, It didn't take long for things to go downhill from there, while Madeline was keeper of the household and doing what must be done. Her husband had his many harlots on the side but wasn't keeping them at all a secret. Basically flaunting it in her face, trying to hold on to trying to make her grandfather proud. She pressed on, and did what she could do to keep anything from breaking.

As people drew closer towards her grandfather, in the times that they have spoke it seemed he was growing close with her as well. With plans to write her into his will and make her completely official there was many people who was opposed to these arrangements. They wanted her to have nothing to do with her family and many of times tried to talk him out of it, but he stood firm. He wanted to leave her basically everything for her and her mother for having shunned them for so many years unable to move past the fact that his son slept with a coloured woman, when he had everything lined up for him. It took him a while, when he read that letter it left a bitter taste in his mouth. As time moved on, he finally worked the nerve to reply back to her after five years after having somewhat accepting the fact that his son was in love with her. During this time, he got word of his son's deployment into the military were he had to face his demons.

Madeline grew a tight bond with her grandfather, never telling him about the struggles of her marriage and kept tight-lipped about the misfortunes in her life. Time was wearing down on him, and in knowing this he wrote her into the will.

When her grandfather died, everything she knew came crashing down on her as she was getting a divorce from her husband. She was twenty-two at the time, It wasn't until her family along with the help of her soon to be ex husband, that she was backstabbed and out-ruled her inheritance in the will. Penniless once again, it reminded her of the times she spent with her mother and although she cherished those moments. It was the nasty way her so-called family yanked everything away from her like she was nothing. Simmering a rage that would last for years, she began plotting the downfall of her once family name by selling information, blackmailing, and ruining her families repetition.  

Making her families name her primary target for vengeance, to gain more power and eyes to use for blackmailing had to come from all places, so not only did she bring about the fall of her families name, she brought about the same for other families, political figures, and whatever she could get her hands on. It started to become about taking from others because they have wronged others, or just because she felt that they shouldn't have this and it should be given to her, everything that was taken from her was going to be replenished one way or another.

When she was reaching a new found wealth she began sending her mother a lot of it. But her mother was equally worried at how much she was sending, and how she was getting all of this money all of a sudden. Fearing that it was blood money she kept sending them back, but Madeline kept sending her money. Until she got a letter curtsey of a women she knew that knew how to write, she asked her how did she get all of that money, and how come she hasn't come to see her in so long? And what she was doing. In the reply letter, she wouldn't tell her mother what she was doing, and the reason for her not visiting was because of her vengeance. She promised her mother that when she was successful in her goal she would come see her. As her mother was still worried about the money she deemed to be dirty, that slowly caused a rift in there relationship.

Madeline after not hearing from her mother in some time, as her hustle was going well. She got shocking news, something she didn't even want to here. In a slave riot Eloise was killed in the crossfire, this was pretty much the only time she set time aside for herself was to attend the funeral of her beloved friend and giving her mother a tight hug which made this even more fuel to the fire.

Successfully, she brought down her families name as well as her ex-husband, his mistresses, so forth, and more political figure heads. She was gaining a repetition to be feared.

It wasn't until her capture that she saw her mother again, detained on the crimes she's committed by others and was sent for execution by the guillotine. She loved her mother very much but their was no way she was going back or even going to say sorry. As she made her final steps towards her death, she couldn't help but smile because she finally was able to complete it.
